Q&A

Q: Are there any age restrictions for the kayak tour at Rock Springs?

A: Yes, children as young as 5 can join the tour as long as they're accompanied by an adult. It's a great family activity! Just keep in mind that younger kids might need a bit more help with paddling. Make sure to check with the provider beforehand if you have specific age questions for your group.

Q: What's the best time of year to go on the glass bottom kayak tour?

A: I'd recommend going in the spring or early fall. The weather is usually perfect, and you get to see more wildlife. It can get quite hot in the summer, and the water levels might be lower then. Check the forecast too; you don’t want to get caught in a Florida rainstorm!

Q: What should I wear to be comfortable during the tour?

A: Definitely wear quick-dry clothes and a swimsuit underneath! Water shoes or sandals with a strap are great too, since you might get in the water. Also, bring sunscreen and a hat; the sun can be pretty strong out there. You can usually store a bag in the kayak for small items.

Just got back from the glass bottom kayak tour at Rock Springs, and wow!

I took the 2-hour guided kayak eco tour last weekend, and it was incredible! The clear kayaks let us see all the fish and turtles below us. Our guide shared awesome facts about the wildlife and the springs. We even got to swim at one of the stops; the water was refreshing! My friends loved it. I’m thinking of getting this as a gift for my sister’s birthday next month.

Thinking of gifting the kayak tour - any tips?

I'm looking to gift the glass bottom kayak tour to my boyfriend for his birthday. He loves the outdoors but hasn't kayaked before. Is this a good choice? Any tips on what to expect or how to make it extra special? I’m hoping he’ll really enjoy the eco aspect of it too.
