This group tour will begin in the middle of downtown Washington, DC, at one of the many roundabout circles famous to the district, Logan Circle. We will head south towards the National Mall, as we learn about L’Enfant’s city planning commissioned by the first US President, George Washington, along the way. The Washington Monument will be our first stop along the mall, where you will have a view of the Capitol building off in the distance directly east, the White House directly North, and the Lincoln Memorial directly West. We will next make our way to the Tidal Basin, home to the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, and take our next stop at one of the newest and most stunning additions to the DC monuments, the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial. Shortly thereafter, we will reach the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, where we can walk right up to the larger-than-life Abraham Lincoln statue, and then make our way alongside the Reflecting Pool back up towards the White House, our last stop.

Q&A

Q: What should I wear for the running tour? Is it casual or more sporty?

A: I'd recommend wearing comfortable running shoes and breathable athletic clothes since you'll be jogging around the DC monuments. It gets pretty warm in the summer, so light layers work best. Oh, and don’t forget sunscreen! You’ll spend a lot of time outdoors.

Q: Are there any age restrictions on this running tour?

A: There aren't strict age limits, but it's recommended for those aged 12 and up since the pace can be a bit fast for younger kids. If you're thinking of bringing younger kids, just check with the guide beforehand to see if they can accommodate.

Q: Is it easy to find parking at Logan Circle?

A: Parking around Logan Circle can be tricky, especially on weekends. I’d suggest using a parking app to check for available spots in advance or opting for a nearby garage. Alternatively, public transport is super convenient in DC, especially if you’re coming from farther away.

Just did the Run the Washington DC Monuments tour—what a blast!

I just got back from the group running tour and it was amazing! We started at Logan Circle and I learned so much about the city’s history while jogging. The best part was stopping at the Lincoln Memorial—it was surreal to see it up close. The guide took great photos too, which I can’t wait to share. If you're considering this as a gift, I highly recommend it! It’s a perfect mix of exercise and sightseeing!

Considering this tour for my partner’s birthday—any tips?

Hey everyone! I’m thinking of getting the Run the Monuments tour as a surprise for my partner's birthday. They love running and exploring new places. Is it suitable for someone who's not in marathon shape? Any advice on the tour or things we should do afterward?
