Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit for the Sutter District History and Food Walking Tour, so your 12-year-old should be good to go! Just keep in mind that the tour does include some food and drinks, and it’s focused on historical content, so it might be more engaging for older kids. But I’d say your kid should definitely enjoy it!
A: If it rains, the tour usually goes on unless it's a real downpour—then they might reschedule. It’s best to contact Local Roots directly to confirm as they can give you the latest info on weather policies. I've done this tour and they’re really accommodating if you need to change your date!
A: Definitely wear comfortable shoes! You’ll be walking around the Sutter District for about 3 hours, and while it’s not super strenuous, you’ll want to be ready for some strolling. I wore sneakers and was perfectly fine. Also, check the weather so you can dress appropriately!

Thinking about gifting the Sutter District Tour for my foodie friend!
Hey everyone! I’m considering this walking food tour in Sacramento for my friend’s birthday. She loves history and food, so it seems perfect! The tastings sound delicious—especially the Bahn mi sandwich and the chocolate cookies! Has anyone done this? How was the food and the guide?
Sutter District Tour - A Hidden Gem for Foodies!
I just got back from the Sutter District History and Food Walking Tour, and wow! It was so much fun. The history mixed with food tastings was perfect. The Croque Monsieur and artisanal meats were highlights. Seriously, if you’re considering this, go for it! It’s worth every penny!
