Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for the Safari West tour? Can younger kids come?

A: Guests must be at least 4 years old to join the Safari West tour. It’s a great experience for families, and younger kids can definitely enjoy the sights of giraffes and zebras! Just keep in mind that parents should supervise their little ones, especially in the walkable areas with the lemurs.

Q: Is there a lot of walking involved? What should I wear?

A: There’s some walking, especially in the areas where you can see the lemurs and birds, but it’s not super strenuous. I’d recommend wearing comfortable shoes and dressing in layers since it can get a bit chilly in the morning. Sunblock is also a must for the open-air safari!

Q: What happens if it rains? Do they cancel the tours?

A: If it rains, they might delay or cancel the tours based on the severity of the weather. It's best to call ahead on the day of your visit to check. They usually try to reschedule if you can't make it, but keep an eye on the weather forecast!

Just did the Safari West tour — what an adventure!

I took my family to the Safari West tour last weekend in Sonoma, and it was AMAZING! We got up close with giraffes and zebras, and the guides were so knowledgeable. My kids, ages 7 and 9, were totally engaged the whole time. The open-air jeep ride really made it feel like we were on a real safari! Pro tip: bring a camera for the lemurs—they're super friendly and love posing!

Considering gifting the Safari West experience — any thoughts?

I want to get my boyfriend a unique experience for his birthday, and the Safari West Sonoma Adventure sounds perfect! Has anyone done it recently? I’m curious about the overall vibe and if it’s worth the price. He loves animals but isn’t super adventurous, so I’m wondering if he’ll enjoy this.
