Q&A

Q: Is there a minimum age requirement for the food tour?

A: There's no strict minimum age, but younger kids might get a bit restless with all the walking and tasting. I took my 10-year-old, and he loved the tacos and the stories! Just keep in mind that some of the food might be too spicy for little ones, so check with the guide beforehand.

Q: What if it rains on the day of the tour? Do they cancel?

A: If rain is expected, they usually decide a few hours before the tour if it’ll be canceled. They’ll let you know, and you can either reschedule or get a refund. Just be prepared with an umbrella, though! The food tour is still enjoyable in light rain, and you get to see a different side of the River Walk.

Q: Is parking easy near the River Walk Mall?

A: Parking can get tricky, especially on weekends. There’s a parking garage right by the mall, but it fills up fast. I recommend arriving early or using a rideshare if you can. It’ll save you the hassle of searching for a spot!

Just did the San Antonio River Walk Food Tour - amazing experience!

I recently went on the food tour and it was such a blast! We started at the River Walk Mall and I loved hearing about the Torch of Friendship. The tortilla soup was to die for, and the tacos? Wow! Even got to stop at the San Fernando Cathedral and learn some history. Highly recommend it if you're in San Antonio! Price is great too, totally worth it.

Thinking about gifting the River Walk Food Tour - any input?

I'm considering this food tour as a birthday gift for my sister who's visiting. She's not a huge foodie, but loves culture and history. Do you think she’d enjoy it? What should I prepare her for in terms of food options? She can be picky!
