Q&A

Q: What's the best time of year to go on the San Diego Seal Tour to avoid crowds?

A: I went in early June and it was still a bit busy, but not as bad as peak summer. I'd recommend going on a weekday if possible, but if you’re visiting in the summer, try early morning tours. Also, keep an eye on local events that might draw crowds!

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on the San Diego Seal Tour?

A: No age limit! It’s great for all ages, even toddlers. Just keep in mind that they’ll need to sit with an adult. They provide life vests for kids, which is a plus! We took our 6-year-old and he had a blast.

Q: What should I wear on the San Diego Seal Tour? Is it chilly on the water?

A: I'd recommend layering up! It can get breezy on the water, especially in the afternoon. A light jacket is perfect. Wear comfy shoes since you'll be walking a bit before you board. And don’t forget the sunglasses!

Just did the San Diego Seal Tour – highly recommend!

I took my family on the San Diego Seal Tour last weekend, and we had such a great time! The Hydra Terra vehicle is super cool, and seeing the sea lions was definitely a highlight. The guide was really knowledgeable and shared some fun facts about the bay. We started at Seaport Village, which was easy to find. It was a bit chilly on the water but nothing a light jacket couldn’t handle. Overall, it was a fun mix of city and sea!

Thinking of gifting the Seal Tour experience – any thoughts?

I’m considering getting the San Diego Seal Tour for my friend’s birthday. She loves nature and the ocean! But I’m worried about how it’ll be if it rains. Are they flexible with rescheduling if the weather’s bad? Also, what’s the best time to go?
