Q&A
A: Unfortunately, all riders must be at least 16 years old to rent the electric bikes. If you have younger kids who want to join, you might want to consider a family biking option or look for a different tour that accommodates younger participants. Also, everyone must wear a helmet, so be sure to have that sorted too!
A: I'd recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes since you'll be riding for a bit. Sunscreen is a must, especially in San Diego! The bikes have a light design, but you’ll want something that allows you to move easily. Also, don’t forget a hat and sunglasses if it’s sunny!
A: Returning the bike is pretty straightforward. You just bring it back to Wheel Fun Rentals by the end of the business day. They’ll check it in and make sure everything is in good shape before you leave. Just be mindful of the time; I got caught up exploring Balboa Park and barely made it back!

Thinking about the San Diego Electric Bike Tour for my boyfriend's birthday!
I’m really excited about giving this self-guided electric bike tour as a gift! I love that it’s flexible and we can explore at our own pace. We’re thinking of checking out the Gaslamp Quarter and maybe some beaches. Just wondering if anyone has recommendations on places not to miss? Also, how long did you ride for? I want to make sure we make the most of the time!
Just did the San Diego electric bike tour — it was a blast!
We rented the bikes for a full day and rode all over! Super easy to use, and the electric assistance really helped on the hills. We started at the Wyndham and ended up at Point Loma. The views were incredible! Definitely recommend bringing a camera and maybe a picnic since we stopped at a park for lunch. Can’t wait to do it again!
