The historic Ferry Building and Alcatraz are two of San Francisco's most prolific attractions. On this not-to-be missed combo tour, you get to see them both in one day. First, enjoy 90 minutes in the Ferry Building to nibble on some of the city’s finest fare during a guided tour.  Please note that the Farmer's Market is active on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Tours on all other days will spend more time and visits inside the building. After the food tour, walk over to Pier 33 to pick up your tickets and board your ferry to Alcatraz. On Alcatraz Island, the Cellhouse audio tour will captivate you with live recordings from the former prisoners.

Q&A

Q: Can you reschedule if the weather's bad on the day of the tour?

A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather's really unfavorable. Just reach out to Edible Excursions, and they’ll help you find another date. Just be sure to do it as soon as you can because they get booked up pretty fast, especially on weekends!

Q: Is the food tour suitable for kids? What ages would enjoy it?

A: The food tour is great for families! Kids will love the tastings, especially if they like trying new foods. I'd say ages 7 and up would enjoy it, but younger kids are fine if they’re adventurous eaters. Just keep an eye on them in the busy Ferry Building!

Q: What kind of clothing should we wear for the Alcatraz tour? Is it cold?

A: Definitely dress in layers! San Francisco can be chilly, especially on the water, so a light jacket is a must. Once you're on Alcatraz, it can get windy, so a hat might be a good idea too. Keep an eye on the weather forecast for the day!

Just did the Ferry Building Food Tour & Alcatraz Combo - Amazing Day!

I just got back from the Ferry Building Food Tour and then Alcatraz, and wow, what a day! The food tour was so much fun—tasting everything from artisanal cheeses to gourmet chocolates. Our guide was super knowledgeable too! Then we hopped on the ferry to Alcatraz, and the audio tour was really moving. It's seriously a perfect combo if you’re in SF. Can’t recommend it enough!

Thinking of gifting the Ferry Building & Alcatraz tour. Worth it?

I want to get this combo tour for my sister’s birthday. She loves food and history, and this seems like the perfect fit. But I’d love to hear from anyone who's actually done it. Is the food tour really that good? And how’s the experience on Alcatraz?
