Our SF in a Day tour will take you places that no other San Francisco tour does, traversing the city by cable-car, rail & bus to visit enchanted gardens, secret stairs & glorious rooftop vistas, creating an unforgettable experience. You’ll avoid crowds at the tourist hot-spots, while experiencing the culture of SF & learning its history. We’ll start your tour near the Embarcadero & take the cable-car up to Nob Hill. From there we go to City Hall (or Cable Car Museum) &, after going inside, we can grab a coffee in Hayes Valley. After that we head to the Castro, then walk through Dolores Park. We finish the morning part of the tour in the Haight, it's a great place to get some lunch. After that we take you to see an icon of San Francisco, the Painted Ladies. That's followed by a walk down another SF icon, Lombard Street. We finish the tour with a walk through North Beach & Chinatown. By then you’ll have had a fantastic experience of SF & made some beautiful memories to take home.

Q&A

Q: How much walking is involved in the tour? My friend isn’t very mobile.

A: The tour does involve quite a bit of walking, especially through places like Dolores Park and the Haight. However, the guide is pretty good at pacing the group. If your friend has mobility concerns, maybe just give them a heads up to wear comfortable shoes. They can always take breaks during the tour.

Q: Is this good for kids, or too much walking and history for them?

A: Kids can definitely enjoy the tour! The cable car rides and stops at fun places like the Painted Ladies and Lombard Street are usually a hit. Just keep in mind that the history part might be less exciting for them, but the sights are awesome. Bringing snacks and a short attention span might help!

Q: What's the best way to get to the starting point if I'm coming from the East Bay?

A: The best way is probably to take BART into the city and hop off at Embarcadero station. From there, it’s just a short walk to the starting point. If you’re driving, parking can be a pain, so I’d suggest using a garage nearby or ridesharing. Just make sure you give yourself enough time because it can get busy!

Thinking of gifting the SF Full-Day Tour - Any advice?

I'm considering giving this San Francisco Full-Day Tour by cable car as a birthday gift. It sounds amazing, especially with visits to places like the Painted Ladies and the Castro. Is the tour really suited for someone who's not super into history? Also, any tips on what to wear? I want them to enjoy it fully!
