Q&A

Q: Are there any age or weight restrictions for renting the electric bikes?

A: There aren't any strict age restrictions, but kids under 16 usually need to ride with an adult. As for weight, the bikes can handle up to 300 lbs comfortably. Just make sure you’re comfortable riding, especially with the hills in Santa Barbara!

Q: Can you swap out the battery during the day if you rent for a full day?

A: Yes! If you rent for the full day, you can definitely come back and swap the battery if you need to. The eco-mode lasts up to 4 hours depending on your riding style, so swapping can help you keep riding longer without worry.

Q: What's the best time of year to do this? I heard weather can really affect the experience.

A: The best time is probably spring or early fall. The weather is usually perfect for biking—mild temps and less wind. Summer can be hot and crowded, so if you want a more relaxed ride, try to go in May or September!

Just did the Santa Barbara Electric Bike Rentals—what a blast!

I rented the electric bikes from Wheel Fun Rentals last weekend while visiting Santa Barbara. It was super easy to rent, and they explained everything really well. We took the scenic route along the beach and it was amazing. I loved how you can switch between eco and high mode depending on the hills. Totally recommend it for a fun day out!

Thinking of gifting the electric bike rentals—need advice!

I'm considering buying the Santa Barbara electric bike rentals as a gift for my parents who love outdoor activities. They’re in decent shape but haven’t ridden bikes in a while. Is it really beginner-friendly? Are there any good routes for less experienced riders? Looking for tips!
