Q&A
A: No specific age restrictions, but the experience is best suited for kids 8 and up, as they'll really get into the hands-on science activities. Younger kids are welcome too, but might need a bit more help. Just make sure they have an adult with them!
A: It's best to dress in layers! Mornings can be chilly on the water, even in summer, so a light jacket is a good idea. Also, wear comfy shoes that you don't mind getting wet. And don’t forget sunscreen! Even if it’s cloudy, you can still get burned out there.
A: Yes, if the weather doesn't cooperate, they’ll usually allow you to reschedule without any issues. Just contact them as soon as you know. They’re pretty flexible about it! You want to make sure to have the best experience possible.

Just got back from the Science Under Sail trip in Camden, Maine!
Wow, what an experience! We sailed out of Rockland Harbor and had a chance to spot seals and porpoises. The onboard science educator was amazing—super knowledgeable! My kids loved the plankton tows and looking at everything under the microscope. The three hours flew by, and I couldn’t believe how much we learned. Definitely recommend it as a family outing or a unique gift for anyone interested in marine life!
Considering gifting the Science Under Sail experience!
I'm thinking about getting this for my parents’ anniversary. They love nature and the coast! Has anyone done this? How was the wildlife viewing? I know they’re only in Camden for a week, so I want to make sure it’s a good pick.
