Learn the basics of sea kayaking on land before launching at Mere Point in Brunswick for a leisurely 3 hour morning tour of Northwest Casco Bay!  Often we paddle south to the end of Mere Point for a photo op and then on to visiting an island for a stretch break, snacks, and shoreline exploring. Then we paddle back on a different route close to an island to our launching point. Your Master Maine Guide will share history of the area while adapting the tour to paddling conditions and participants abilities. Sea kayaking is an easy, fun way to sightsee from the water.  We often see different kinds of sea gulls, cormorants, ducks, great blue herons, snowy egrets, osprey and sometimes bald eagles. If we are lucky, we will see a seal. Paddlers of all ages will love exploring Casco Bay in this protected, scenic, historic area! No experience is needed. This a family-oriented experience. Single and double kayaks are used on this guided tour by a Master Maine Guide.

Q&A

Q: Are there any age restrictions for kids on this kayak tour?

A: No age restrictions are mentioned, so it's great for families! Kids as young as 5 can join if they're with an adult. Just make sure they’re comfortable in the water and can fit into a life jacket. The guides are super accommodating and make it fun for everyone.

Q: What if the weather doesn't cooperate? Can we reschedule?

A: Absolutely! If the weather looks bad, they'll reach out to you to reschedule. It's no problem at all. Just keep an eye on your emails after you book, and you’ll be good to go!

Q: What should we wear for this kayak tour?

A: Wear comfy clothes that you don’t mind getting wet! Quick-dry shorts and a t-shirt or a swimsuit work well. Don't forget a hat and sunscreen, especially if it’s sunny. Water shoes are a good idea too, but sandals that strap on will do.

Thinking about gifting the Sea Kayak tour for my parents!

I’m considering giving my parents the Sea Kayak to an Island Tour in Casco Bay. They love being outdoors and I think this would be perfect for them! I read that it's really easy for beginners, and the guide sounds awesome. Has anyone done this? What was your experience like?

Just did the kayak tour in Casco Bay - here's my take!

I just got back from the Sea Kayak to an Island Tour, and wow! The scenery was beautiful, and we saw some seals! The snacks were a nice touch too. It was pretty laid-back, which I appreciated. Anyone else been? What did you think?
