Q&A
A: Definitely wear sturdy hiking shoes with good tread – you'll need them for the rocky terrain! I recommend moisture-wicking clothes and a hat since it can get warm, even if you're hiking in the morning. Layers are a good idea since it can be cooler at the start but warms up as you hike. You'll also want to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
A: It's generally recommended for ages 12 and up due to the ruggedness of the terrain and the need for a moderate fitness level. Kids under 12 might find it challenging, especially the scrambling parts. However, if your kids are adventurous and you feel they can handle it, it might still be possible, just check with the guide first!
A: The hike is rated moderate, so it does require some effort. If you're okay with some step ups and downs and can handle rocky areas, you should be fine! You can choose between a 3 or 5-mile route based on your comfort level, which is nice. Just take your time, and enjoy the views. The guide is super encouraging too!

Thinking about the Secret Petroglyphs Hike - any tips?
Hey everyone! I’m considering gifting the Secret Petroglyphs hike for my partner's birthday. We've never done anything like this before. I love that it’s off the beaten path, but I’m a little worried about the ruggedness of the terrain. How tough is it, really? Also, what should I bring other than water?
Just did the Secret Petroglyphs hike - it was amazing!
Wow, just finished the Secret Petroglyphs hike and I can’t recommend it enough! Lydia was our guide and she showed us the most stunning petroglyphs and that slot canyon was unreal! The terrain was tricky but manageable, definitely wear good shoes. My legs are sore but it was totally worth it! If you're thinking about it, just do it!
