Q&A

Q: What's the best time to do this hike if I want to see the sunrise?

A: The best time for a sunrise hike at Cathedral Rock is definitely between April and November when the weather is more stable. It’s about a 2-3 hour hike, so aim to start around 5 AM. This way, you'll catch the first light hitting those stunning red rocks, and it’s less crowded too! Just be sure to check the weather the night before.

Q: Are there any age limits for this hike? I'm considering it for my kids.

A: There are no strict age limits, but it’s definitely better for kids who are at least 8 or older since some parts can be challenging. The guides are great with families, though! They’ll pace the hike based on the group, and it's designed to be enjoyable for all skill levels. Just be sure to let them know you're bringing kids when you book.

Q: Is the trail difficult, or can I bring my elderly parents?

A: The hike is rated as easy to moderate, so it’s generally suitable for seniors as long as they’re comfortable with some elevation gain. It's about 3 miles total, and the guides are really helpful in adjusting the pace based on your needs. Just make sure they wear good shoes and stay hydrated!

Just did the Cathedral Rock hike - it was AMAZING!

I went on the Sedona Creekside hike last weekend and wow, the views were insane! Our guide was super friendly and took us to some hidden spots along Oak Creek. We even spotted some wildlife! Definitely worth the early wake-up for sunrise. Oh, and the snacks they provided were great – especially the trail cookies. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a fun, not-too-tough hike!

Thinking about gifting this hike to my parents!

I’m considering getting my parents the Cathedral Rock hike experience. They love being outdoors but aren’t super fit. Has anyone done this with older family members? I want them to enjoy it and not feel exhausted.
