For those that are seeking a more genuine tour, with a locally based tour company, this day is designed to focus solely on the Grand Canyon coming from Sedona, along the way up we drive through Oak Creek Canyon, passing through Flagstaff while sharing geology and history info the entire way. This tour is one of the few Grand Canyon tours that takes you through the painted desert! We then stop for lunch at Cameron Trading post within the historic Dine' (Navajo) reservation then enter first into the East Gate. We then visit 4 points of interests along the canyon and learn the geology, geography, and history/mystery of the Natives and settlers, finally exiting the park at the South Gate leaving no stone unturned. It's biggest advantage is a local guide that has studied all the relevant subjects, making the tour as comprehensive as possible and visiting more sites than most other tours, thus having the most amount of experience one could have while visiting the Grand Canyon for a day!

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this tour?

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but I'd say it's best suited for kids 8 and up. The tour includes quite a bit of walking and listening to the guide, so younger kids might not enjoy it as much. My 10-year-old loved it, especially the stop at the Cameron Trading Post!

Q: What should I wear for the tour? Is it an all-day thing?

A: Definitely wear comfortable clothes and good walking shoes! It can get a bit chilly in the morning but warms up, so layers are key. The tour lasts most of the day, so you’ll want to be prepared for some walking at the Grand Canyon itself.

Q: Can we reschedule if the weather is bad?

A: Yes! The tour company is pretty flexible about weather. If conditions look bad, they’ll usually let you reschedule without any hassle. Just make sure to give them a heads up as early as possible.

Just did the Sedona to Grand Canyon Equinox tour - WOW!

I just got back from the Sedona to Grand Canyon Equinox tour, and it exceeded my expectations! Our guide was super knowledgeable about the geology and history, and driving through Oak Creek Canyon was breathtaking. Stopped at the Cameron Trading Post for lunch, which was delicious! We saw so much more of the Grand Canyon than I thought we would. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a unique experience!

Thinking of gifting the Equinox tour - any thoughts?

Looking to gift the Sedona to Grand Canyon Equinox tour for my parents’ anniversary. They love nature and history. I’m wondering if it’s a good fit for them? Also, how is the lunch at the trading post? Any must-try recommendations?
