Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on the manatee swim tour?

A: Yes, it's recommended that kids be at least 5 years old to participate. They should also be comfortable in the water since there is some swimming involved. Just keep in mind, younger kids might need extra help from parents or guides.

Q: What should I wear for the swim tour?

A: You'll be provided with a wetsuit, so wear something comfortable underneath. A swimsuit is perfect! It can get a bit chilly when you’re in the water, so maybe bring a light jacket for after the swim. Also, don’t forget sunscreen!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the tour?

A: If the weather isn't safe for swimming, the tour will be rescheduled. They keep a close eye on conditions since safety is a priority. Just make sure to check in with them a day before the tour to confirm! You can usually reschedule without a problem.

Thinking of gifting the manatee swim tour! Anyone done it?

I’m considering this semi-private manatee swim tour in Crystal River for my sister’s birthday. She’s been obsessed with manatees since childhood. I love that it’s semi-private, so it won’t be overcrowded. Anyone have tips? What’s the experience like? Does it really feel special, or is it just another tourist trap?

What a magical day swimming with manatees!

I just got back from the manatee swim tour in Crystal River and wow, what an experience! The guides were so cool and taught us so much about the manatees. We had hot chocolate after, which was such a nice touch! I can’t believe how friendly those creatures are. If you’re thinking of doing this as a gift, do it!!
