Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for the semi-private surf lesson? I wanna surprise my sister but she's only 14.

A: There's no strict age limit for the semi-private surf lessons at 808 Surf School! However, younger kids usually need a parent or guardian to be present. Your 14-year-old sister should be just fine to join the lesson. Just make sure she’s comfortable in the water!

Q: If it rains, do they cancel the lesson or just modify it?

A: Great question! If it’s just light rain, they typically go ahead with the lesson since you’ll get wet anyway. But if there are storms or dangerous conditions, they’ll reschedule. They give you a heads up in advance, so no worries!

Q: What should we wear to the surf lesson? Is there anything specific I need to bring?

A: You’ll want to wear a swimsuit, and it’s a good idea to bring a rash guard if you have one to protect against sunburn and board rash. Don’t forget a towel and some water! They provide all the equipment you need, so just come ready to have fun!

Thinking of booking a semi-private surf lesson for my boyfriend's birthday!

Hey everyone! I’m considering this semi-private surf lesson in Oahu through 808 Surf School. It seems like such a fun way for us to bond, especially since we both love the ocean. Just wondering if anyone’s tried it and how it went! Also, I’ll be in Oahu next month, thinking late afternoon would be best to avoid the heat. Any tips?

Just booked my semi-private surf lesson, so excited!

I just went ahead and booked the semi-private surf lesson for my sister and me while we're in Oahu! We’ve never surfed before, so I’m a little nervous but super stoked! The price is great (free for the experience :) ) and I can't wait to see her face when we’re out there on the waves. Anyone have tips for first-timers?
