Q&A

Q: Do they have age limits for the surf lesson? My kids are 8 and 10.

A: There's no strict age limit, but they usually recommend kids be at least 7 years old to join the semi-private lessons. Your 8 and 10-year-olds should be fine! Just make sure they can swim a bit and are comfortable in the ocean. The instructors are great with kids, so it should be a fun time!

Q: What should we wear for the lesson? Do we need to bring our own surfboards?

A: Just wear a swimsuit and maybe a rash guard if you have one. They provide the surfboards and all the gear you'll need. It's a good idea to bring a towel and maybe some snacks for afterward. You'll be super stoked after catching some waves!

Q: What if it rains or the waves are too rough? Do they reschedule?

A: They usually keep an eye on the weather and wave conditions. If it's unsafe to surf, they will reach out to you to reschedule or offer a refund. But in my experience, they’ve been pretty good about finding times when the waves are manageable. Just keep an eye on the forecast!

Thinking of booking the semi-private surf lesson in Waikiki!

Hey everyone! I’m planning to gift this semi-private surf lesson for my two friends while we’re in Oahu. I’ve heard great things about Big Wave Dave Surf & Coffee, but has anyone tried this experience? What’s the vibe like? Is it really good for beginners? I want to make sure they're gonna have a blast!

Looking for advice on the best time for surf lessons in Waikiki.

I’m set on booking a surf lesson at Waikiki Beach for me and my partner. What’s the best time of year to take this class? Also, how busy does it get? I wanna avoid the crazy crowds if possible!
