Q: What if the weather doesn’t cooperate? Can we reschedule our surfing lesson?

A: Yeah, totally! If the weather's bad, Venice Surf Shack will usually contact you to reschedule. They’re pretty flexible with that. Just make sure to keep an eye on your email after booking. Also, I’d suggest having a couple of backup dates in mind just in case.

Q: Is there an age limit for these surfing lessons?

A: The lessons are really open! Kids as young as 7 can join, but it depends on their comfort level in the water. They just recommend that anyone under 18 has a parent or guardian sign a waiver. It’s a great family activity!

Q: What should I wear for the surfing lesson? Do they provide wetsuits?

A: You don't have to worry about bringing a wetsuit; they provide those! Just wear a swimsuit underneath and maybe some kind of rash guard if you want extra sun protection. Flip flops until you surf, but you’ll probably end up barefoot on the board!

Just got back from a semi-private surf lesson at Venice Beach! 🤙

OMG, I just took the semi-private surfing lesson at Venice Beach and it was such a blast! The instructors from Venice Surf Shack were super chill and really helped me catch some waves. I was a total beginner but they made it fun and not intimidating at all. The spot is beautiful, and getting to surf there was a dream! Definitely thinking of gifting this experience to my friend who’s been wanting to try surfing. Anyone else had a great time here?
