Q&A
A: Great question! There isn’t a strict age limit, but kids should be at least 5 to paddle on their own. Younger kids can go with an adult on the kayak. Just make sure they wear life jackets, which are provided. It's a fun way to get them outside!
A: If the weather looks questionable, definitely call ahead. They’re pretty flexible with rescheduling if conditions aren't safe for paddling. Just keep an eye on the forecast and maybe plan for an early morning session when it's calmer! You can also check for any updates on their social channels.
A: Manatees are usually spotted in the winter months, from November to March. They migrate to warmer waters, and the Jim Neville Marine Preserve is a prime spot for sightings! Go early in the morning for the best chance, and keep your eyes peeled for them near the mangroves.

Thinking of gifting a kayak rental at Siesta Key for my sister's birthday!
I found this Siesta Key kayak and paddleboard rental option, where you can explore the mangroves and even see manatees! I’m thinking it would be perfect for my sister who loves being outdoors. Has anyone done this? How's the experience? Also, what should I tell her to wear?
Siesta Key Kayak Rentals - A must-try experience!
Just got back from kayaking at Jim Neville Marine Preserve, and wow, it was incredible! The water was so calm, we paddled around for hours. We even saw a couple of manatees! This activity is perfect if you want to chill out and disconnect for a bit. Definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a fun day out!
