Q&A
A: There isn't a strict minimum age for the Signature Shockoe tour, but it’s recommended for ages 10 and up due to the historical content. Kids might enjoy it more if they can appreciate the stories and history. Plus, it’s a lot of walking, so make sure they’re up for it!
A: The best way is probably driving if you're from out of town! There’s street parking but it can get tricky. If you’re local, consider using the GRTC bus service, it's super convenient. Just check their schedule to plan accordingly!
A: Comfort is key! Wear comfortable walking shoes since you’ll be on your feet for about two hours. Dress for the weather, too—layers are a good idea if you're not sure about temperatures. Bring a hat or sunscreen if it's sunny!

Just did the Signature Shockoe tour! Wow!
I recently went on the Signature Shockoe walking tour in Richmond, and it was amazing! We visited the Poe Museum and learned so much about the city's history. The stories about the slave trade were really eye-opening and respectfully told. The guides were super knowledgeable. Definitely recommend it as a gift for anyone interested in history! It's about two hours long, which feels just right.
Thinking of gifting the Shockoe tour - opinions?
I’m looking at this Signature Shockoe walking tour for my friend’s birthday. She loves history and Richmond. I’m a little worried about how much walking there is, though. Has anyone done it? Any tips? Also, how's the parking situation at the start?
