Our glass bottom kayaks are the clearest, most stable of it's kind on the Silver River! They come with a sit-in-top design, which means they are well suited to all-weather paddling, stability is greatly increased and paddler comfort is enhanced. Our kayaks come with a transparent hull for underwater viewing all the way to the bottom, even the deepest springs in the river! This activity is for those who have already experienced our guided tour, are experienced paddlers and are able to navigate on their own. During this activity you'll share the water with alligators, turtles, several species of fish and birds. Our glass bottom kayaks give you the opportunity to view these "locals" in their natural habitat without ever getting into the water! (No swimming allowed at this location)

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the glass bottom kayak rental?

A: There's no strict age limit, but kids under 12 should definitely be accompanied by an adult. It's really important they wear a life vest too. I took my 10-year-old nephew, and he had a blast! Just make sure they're comfortable on the water.

Q: What if the weather is bad the day of my rental?

A: If the weather is severe, they usually reschedule you for another day. I got rained out once, and they were super flexible. Just make sure to call ahead to confirm your options and keep an eye on the forecast.

Q: What should I wear for the kayak rental?

A: Dress in comfy clothes that can get wet, like quick-dry shorts and a t-shirt. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat! I went in July and got a little burnt because I didn’t think about it beforehand. Water shoes are a good option too!

Thinking of gifting the glass bottom kayak rental - any advice?

I've been eyeing the glass bottom kayak rental at Silver Springs in Orlando for my partner's birthday. We did the guided tour before and loved it! I think this would be a cool way to see the wildlife again, especially the alligators and turtles. Just a bit worried about the logistics. Should I be concerned about parking or anything like that?

Just did the glass bottom kayak rental - WOW!

I just finished the glass bottom kayak rental at Silver Springs and it was epic! The views were breathtaking, and seeing the fish and turtles underwater through the glass was so cool. The kayaks are super stable too, didn’t feel wobbly at all. I totally recommend this if you're into nature. Oh, and don’t forget your GoPro—there's so much to capture!
