Q&A
A: The kayak rental is generally suitable for kids aged 12 and up as long as they can handle the kayak on their own. For kids younger than 12, they’ll need to be accompanied by an adult in a tandem if they want to ride. Just make sure they’re comfortable in the water and wearing a life jacket, which is provided!
A: Late spring to early fall is prime time for kayaking in Cape May. You’ll see Ospreys and more wildlife during that warmer period. Just keep an eye on the weather, as conditions can change quickly. Early mornings are typically calmer and better for spotting wildlife!
A: You’ll want to wear something comfortable and quick-drying! Flip-flops can be slippery, so it’s better to go with water shoes or sandals with straps. Also, consider a hat and sunscreen since you’ll be out on the water for a bit. If it’s cooler, a light jacket might be nice just in case.

Thinking about gifting a kayak rental for my friend's birthday!
I've heard awesome things about the Single Kayak Rental at Cape May. My friend loves the outdoors and I've been wanting to surprise them with something fun. What’s the vibe like on Cape Island Creek? Can I expect to see some wildlife like Ospreys? Also, what's a good time of day to go?
Just got back from kayaking in Cape May, and wow!
I recently rented a kayak from Miss Chris Fishing Center and it was incredible! The creek is so calm and beautiful. I saw three Ospreys diving for fish. The staff was super friendly and the kayak was in great shape. Pro tip: go early to avoid the crowds! Totally recommend this as a gift experience.
