Your captain is a Merchant Marine Captain with 30+ years on the water, will tour you around Sitka Sound, the Saint Lazaria Islands and Mt. Edgecumbe Volcano for active seabird sightings. We are based out of Sitka on the western side of Baranof Island, in beautiful Southeast Alaska. We are owned and operated by a year round resident and adventure outfitter. He states, "There's no place I'd rather be or explore than Southeast Alaska. Here we have the bounty of the Pacific Ocean at our doorstep with over 18,000 miles of coastline encompassing the Tongass National Forest, the largest temperate rain forest in the northern hemisphere. Our mission is to provide our guests with the greatest sea and coastal adventures out there, while providing an element of added safety as we explore one of the most beautiful places on the edges of the earth."

Q: Is there a maximum number of people allowed on the charter?

A: Yes! The private charter is great because you can enjoy it with your friends or family. The boat can comfortably hold up to 6 people, plus your captain. So it’s perfect for a small group looking to explore Sitka Sound together.

A: Great question! It can get chilly out on the water, even in summer. Dress in layers—think a good waterproof jacket, warm sweaters, and maybe a beanie. It's also a good idea to wear non-slip shoes since the boat can get wet.

A: Absolutely! You can extend the tour if you want to explore more. Just talk to the captain when you book. They’re super accommodating and want to make sure you have the best experience possible.

I took the Sitka Marine Life & Seabirds tour last week and had a blast! Our captain was super knowledgeable and we got to see so many seabirds, plus the scenery was unreal. We even spotted a few sea otters! Highly recommend if you're looking for something unique.
