Q&A

Q: What's the cancellation policy if the weather's bad?

A: If the weather doesn't cooperate, True Alaskan Tours will typically reschedule your cruise for another day. They'll work with you to find an alternative date that works. That said, it's a good idea to check their policy directly on their site or call them, just to be sure!

Q: Is there an age limit for kids? Thinking about bringing my 7-year-old.

A: There’s no specific age limit for kids, and many families bring children along. Just make sure your little one is comfortable on a boat and can handle a few hours of cruising. The crew is great with kids and will keep them engaged with the wildlife!

Q: What should I wear and bring for the cruise?

A: Dress in layers! It can get chilly out on the water, even in summer. A waterproof jacket is a must, along with comfy shoes. Don't forget your camera for all those wildlife shots! Bring sunglasses too; the glare from the water can be strong.

Has anyone done the Sitka Whale Watch and Sea Otter Quest? Thoughts?

I just booked the Sitka Whale Watch and Sea Otter Quest for next month, and I’m super excited! I’ve heard you can see tons of wildlife like otters and maybe even whales. The price is great since it includes snacks and drinks. I’m curious if anyone has tips on the best spots on the boat for viewing or what snacks to bring for the kids?

Thinking of gifting the Sitka Whale Watch experience to my parents.

Hey guys! I’m considering this whale watching tour as a gift for my parents’ anniversary. They love the outdoors and wildlife, but I’m not sure if they’ll enjoy being on a boat for that long. Anyone know if it’s worth it or too rough for older folks?
