Q&A
A: The best time to see the Northern Lights in Fairbanks is between late August and early April. December to February tends to provide the clearest skies. Just keep an eye on the weather forecast because if it’s cloudy, you might miss the show! Also, booking on a new moon can help maximize visibility.
A: There's no strict age limit, but kids over 6 usually enjoy it more. The tour lasts around 5-6 hours including travel, so it’s perfect for families! Just make sure younger kids are bundled up, as it can get cold waiting outside for the lights.
A: Dress in layers! You'll want a good thermal base layer, warm socks, and a waterproof outer layer. Don’t forget a hat and gloves! Footwear is crucial—insulated, waterproof boots are a must. The tour provides cozy seating in the van, but you'll be outside for a bit too.

Just got back from the SkyChase™ Northern Lights experience!
OMG, this was unreal! We took the luxury tour with Aurora In Alaska last week, and it was epic. Our guide was super friendly and the Mercedes van was so comfy. We got lucky with the lights dancing right above us—it felt like a dream! The hot drinks were perfect while we waited outside, and the reindeer sausages were surprisingly tasty. Definitely a must-do if you're in Fairbanks!
Considering the Private Northern Lights tour as a gift, any tips?
I want to surprise my partner with the SkyChase tour. I've heard great things, but is it worth the price? Also, any advice on the best time to go? We're both beginners when it comes to outdoor winter stuff, so I hope it's not too hardcore!
