Local Veteran owned and operated. Join our Small Group Boat Tour of Sitka on a 2.5 hour voyage and explore the rugged coastline of the Tongass National Rain Forest. You can expect to see Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Bald Eagles, Various Sea and Coastal Shore Birds, and very good chances of seeing Gray Whales, Humpback Whales, to include the occasional Orca Whale. You will also have a chance of seeing Deer, Seals, and later in the summer (end of July - October) very good chances of viewing Brown Bears feeding on salmon. When time permits, I will take you to one of two different waterfalls where you may be able to witness salmon attempting to jump up the falls. At the conclusion of your tour, you will be dropped off at the departure point. The last tour of the day will be dropped off at the cruise ship terminal at the captains discretion.

Q&A

Q: Are there age restrictions for kids on the boat tour?

A: There aren't strict age restrictions, but kids should be at least 5 years old to enjoy the experience fully. The tour involves some longer boat time, and younger ones might get restless. Just keep in mind that it’s a small group, so ensure they can sit still and listen to the guide!

Q: Can you reschedule if the weather is bad?

A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather conditions aren’t safe for boating. They’ll usually notify you beforehand and work with you to find another time that fits. Just make sure to call them as soon as possible if the forecast looks sketchy!

Q: What should we wear for the boat tour?

A: Dress in layers! It can get chilly out on the water, even in summer. I'd recommend a light waterproof jacket and maybe a beanie. If you can, wear non-slip shoes since you’ll be on a boat. Don’t forget your sunglasses and sunscreen— you’ll be outside for a bit!

Thinking of gifting the Sitka Boat Tour - any tips?

I’m looking to surprise my parents with this Small Group Boat Tour in Sitka! They love nature and wildlife, and I think they’d go crazy over the whales and eagles. Has anyone done this recently? Is it as amazing as it sounds? Any tips for making the most out of the experience?

Anyone else excited for the Sitka Boat Tour?

Just booked a spot for the boat tour in a couple weeks, and I can’t wait! I’ve heard there's a good chance to see orcas and even bears later in the summer. What should I expect? Anything specific I should bring?
