Take a day to truly enjoy the wine and redwoods of Sonoma County through the eyes of the passionate and fun guides who know it best. This full-day tour is designed for small groups who want to learn, have fun, and get a local feel for the wineries and redwoods just north of San Francisco. We purposefully choose NOT to go to Muir Woods, which is overrun with crowds and prevents our guests from fully enjoying the majesty of the Redwoods. Instead, we go to Armstrong Woods, which has older and taller trees, and far less crowds. The experience is for people that want to truly and fully experience the Giant California Coastal Redwoods. .

Q&A

Q: Are there any age restrictions for this tour? Can kids join?

A: Yes, kids are welcome on this tour! Just keep in mind that there's a good amount of walking involved, especially in the redwoods, so younger kids might get tired. It's a great family outing if you think they can handle the hike and wine tasting atmosphere. They should enjoy the nature and the scenery!

Q: What if the weather turns bad on the day of the tour? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather's really bad, you can definitely reschedule! Just contact the provider at least 24 hours in advance. They’re pretty flexible and want to make sure you have a great experience, rain or shine.

Q: What should we wear for the hike in Armstrong Woods?

A: Dress in layers! It can get a bit cool in the shade of the redwoods, so I recommend a light jacket and comfortable shoes for walking. Also, don't forget to bring your sunglasses for the wine tasting. You’ll want to feel relaxed and comfy while sipping in the sun!

Thinking about gifting the Giant Redwoods and Wine Tour!

I’m considering this experience for my parents’ anniversary. They love nature and wine! The tour seems to hit all the right spots, especially since they avoid Muir Woods. Does anyone have any recent experiences? How was the lunch provided? I want it to be special for them.

Just did the Small-Group Giant Redwoods Tour, and it was amazing!

I just got back from this tour and wow, the redwoods are breathtaking! Armstrong Woods was so peaceful, and our guide was super knowledgeable. The wine tasting was really fun, too! Anyone thinking about this as a gift, I say go for it! Perfect for nature lovers! Just a heads up, the hiking part got my legs sore, but it was totally worth it.
