Are you looking to explore the gorgeous reefs of the Florida Keys? Are you also looking to go out on a snorkeler friendly boat? Then you've the found the tour for you! On our snorkel-only trips we head out on our 2022 51' catamaran, the Calypso, to the beautiful John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and snorkel two different reefs for 45 minutes at each site. The reefs we visit are no deeper than 25 feet, and the same reefs come up to as shallow as 5-10 feet from the surface in some parts making it perfect for snorkelers - both kids and adults. We visit some of the most popular sites including Christ of the Abyss, Horseshoe Reef, Grecian Rocks, Banana Reef and more daily (weather conditions and mooring space permitting at the dive sites). Refreshments, chip bags, reef safe sunscreen and ALL equipment are included!

Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for kids on this snorkel tour? I'm thinking about getting this for my family!

A: There’s no specific age limit for the snorkel tour! Kids as young as 5 can join, but they should be comfortable in the water and able to swim. Just make sure to keep an eye on them since it can get a bit choppy sometimes. Also, they provide life jackets for extra safety!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule easily?

A: If the weather isn't cooperating, they’ll usually give you a call or send an email in advance. You can easily reschedule for a later date if there's a cancellation due to weather. Just be flexible - it's the Keys, so sometimes storms pop up unexpectedly!

Q: Is there parking available at the dive center? I’m not sure where to go once we arrive.

A: Yes, there’s parking available at the Silent World Dive Center! They have a decent parking lot, but it can fill up quickly during peak times, so try to arrive early. You can also park on the street in some areas if needed.

Just booked the snorkel tour at John Pennekamp! So excited!

I just got tickets for the snorkel tour at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park next month! I can't wait to see the Christ of the Abyss statue underwater. I’ve heard the reefs are beautiful and the Calypso boat is super comfy. Anyone got tips on what to bring? I’m thinking of wearing a swimsuit but worried about the sun. Do they provide sunscreen?

Has anyone done the snorkel tour with kids?

I’m thinking of taking my 8 and 10 year old on the snorkel tour at John Pennekamp. Does anyone know how kid-friendly this experience is? What do you think they’ll enjoy the most? Any tips for keeping them engaged?
