Sparkling Wine production started in the 17th century in France, when a monk named Dom Pierre Pérignon planted vines. Ruinart, the oldest established Champagne house, was founded in 1729 and began shipping bubbly in 1764. The style gained in popularity among French and English nobility. In 1745, Moët & Chandon became the first purveyor to a European royal court, at the court of King Louis XV. Veuve Clicquot was then founded in 1772. Among other things, Madame Clicquot invented the riddling process to remove yeast after secondary fermentation, creating the traditional method of méthode champenoise. Sparkling wines have been produced in the California since the 1860s During this tour we will visit 2 different Sparkling wine wineries. You choose from Gloria Ferrer, Taittinger, Mumm, and Chandon. Visit the two best sparkling wineries in Sonoma and Napa. Have lunch in one of the restaurants in Sonoma or Napa. Visit local souvenir shops and art galleries. Enjoy scenery and architecture.

Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for this champagne tour? Can kids come along?

A: Hey! The tour is 21+ since it's all about tasting sparkling wines. If you want to bring younger ones, maybe find a sitter, or look into other family-friendly activities. But it definitely makes for a fun adult outing!

Q: Can we reschedule if the weather's bad?

A: Yes! The company is pretty flexible. If weather's an issue, they’ll work with you to find another day that works. Just be sure to reach out as soon as possible!

Q: What should we wear for the vineyard tour? Any recommendations?

A: I’d say go for something semi-casual! A nice dress or smart-casual outfit works well since you might be in some nice restaurants too. Don't forget comfy shoes—there’s some walking at the wineries!

Just booked the Sonoma and Napa Champagne Tour! Any tips?

I just snagged the half-day champagne tour and I can't wait! We’re hitting Mumm and Gloria Ferrer. I’m super excited about the tastings and the lunch afterward—any recommendations for where to eat? Also, how’s the transportation? Does it feel rushed or is there enough time to enjoy?
