Our guided hiking trips are designed to be more than a simple nature walk while still accessible to a wide range of ability so that individuals of modest fitness levels, as well as more active ones, will enjoy themselves. All of the trails where we lead guided hikes have been chosen not only for their scenic beauty but also their accessibility, safety, and low volume of visitors. Combined, these factors afford our guests an unforgettable Sonoran Desert experience. Our most popular hiking routes are in Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve, where a large variety of trails are available to accommodate all levels of hikers. Other hiking locations are available.

Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for this guided hike? Can kids join?

A: Kids are welcome on the hike, but I'd recommend checking with the provider about specific trails suitable for younger ages. Generally, if they can handle a couple of miles and enjoy the outdoors, they should be fine. Just be sure to bring extra snacks and water for them!

Q: If it rains, will the hike be canceled?

A: Yes, if there's significant rain or storms, they usually cancel for safety reasons. They typically notify you via email or phone. Make sure to keep an eye on the weather the day before your hike, and it’s good to have a backup plan just in case.

Q: Do I need to wear special shoes for the hike? What if I'm a beginner?

A: Regular sneakers are fine if you’re not planning on going off the main trails, but hiking boots can give you better support and grip. As a beginner, just pace yourself and enjoy the views! The guides are super friendly and will help you along the way.

Thinking about gifting a Sonoran Desert hike!

Hey everyone, I'm considering getting a guided hike in Scottsdale for my parents' anniversary. They love the outdoors but aren’t super fit—do you think this hike would be a good fit for them? I saw it includes snacks and water, which is awesome. Also, how’s the scenery? Any recommendations?

Just finished the Sonoran Desert hike—amazing experience!

I just got back from the guided hike in Scottsdale, and wow, what a fantastic experience! The guide was super knowledgeable, and the scenery was breathtaking. We saw so many cool plants and even a few local animals. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to connect with nature. Bring a camera!
