Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for renting a kayak at Lakeview Commons?

A: Yes, kids can kayak, but they usually need to be at least 8 years old to operate their own kayak. If they're younger, they can sit in the kayak with an adult. It's a great way for families to enjoy the water together!

Q: What should I wear for kayaking at Lake Tahoe?

A: I'd recommend wearing a swimsuit or quick-dry clothing. A hat and sunglasses are also a must because you'll be out in the sun. Don't forget sunscreen! If you're planning to paddle in the morning, you might want a light jacket since it can get chilly.

Q: Can you paddle to the wildlife preserve from the launch point?

A: Absolutely! It's just a short paddle from Lakeview Commons, and it's totally worth it. The views are stunning and you might even spot some birds or other wildlife. Just make sure to keep an eye on the time so you can get back before your rental is up.

Anyone worried about the weather for kayaking at Tahoe?

I’m planning to go kayaking at Lakeview Commons but I've seen mixed forecasts. How's the weather usually? Do they cancel if it rains? This is so important for me since my friend is super excited about this gift!
