Q&A

Q: Are there any age restrictions for the paddle board lesson? I'm thinking about gifting this to my 12-year-old.

A: Yes! Kids can definitely join the paddle board lesson starting at the age of 10, as long as they're accompanied by an adult. The instructors are really good with kids and make it super fun. Just a heads up, I’d recommend checking the weather and making a reservation in advance since it can get busy on weekends!

Q: What should I wear to the paddle board lesson? Is it all wet?

A: Definitely wear something you don't mind getting wet! A swimsuit is perfect, and I’d recommend a rash guard for sun protection. Water shoes can be helpful too, as the boards can be a bit slippery. Bring a towel and change of clothes for afterward!

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of the lesson? Can we reschedule?

A: Yes, you can absolutely reschedule if the weather isn't cooperating! Just give them a call or send an email to the Chula Vista Water Sports team. They’re super flexible and want you to have a great experience. I had to reschedule due to rain and it was really easy to do!

Just did the Paddle Board lesson at San Diego Bay! Amazing!

I surprised my boyfriend with the paddle board lesson last weekend, and wow, it was so much fun! The instructors were super chill and helpful. We got a great overview of paddling techniques, and the views of the bay were stunning. We even saw some wildlife! I totally recommend this for a unique gift. Can’t wait to go again!

Thinking of gifting a paddle board lesson — any tips?

I’m considering this paddle board lesson at San Diego Bay for my sister’s birthday. She’s never tried paddle boarding, but I think she’d love it! What do you all think? Any tips or experiences to share?
