Q&A
A: There isn't a strict age limit, but it's generally recommended for ages 12 and up since you'll need to paddle and balance on the board. If you're considering it for a younger child, you might want to call the provider to see if they can accommodate a private lesson. You’ll need to make sure they’re comfortable in the water too!
A: You’ll want to wear something you’re comfortable moving in, like a swimsuit or quick-dry clothes. Water shoes or sandals with straps are ideal since your feet might get wet. And don’t forget sunscreen! The sun can be really intense on the lake.
A: Yes! If the weather's not cooperating, you can easily reschedule. Just make sure to reach out to the provider at least a day in advance to make changes. They’re really accommodating with rescheduling when it comes to weather.

Thinking about gifting a paddleboarding lesson in South Lake Tahoe!
I want to surprise my partner with a stand up paddleboard lesson while we’re in Tahoe! I’ve never done paddleboarding but it sounds fun. Is the 8:30 AM time slot really worth it? And how’s the instructor? Any tips for beginners?
Just did the paddleboarding lesson in Tahoe, and it was awesome!
I took the paddleboarding lesson last weekend, and wow, I loved it! The instructors were really clear with their instructions, and the lake was so peaceful in the morning. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to try out SUP! Just be prepared to get a little wet. Can't wait to go again!
