Q&A

Q: Is there a weight limit for the paddleboards?

A: There's no strict weight limit, but most boards can comfortably accommodate up to 250-300 lbs. If you're over that, it’s best to check with the staff at 5280 Paddle Sports before reserving. They want to make sure you have a great experience, so don't hesitate to ask!

Q: What's the best time of day to go paddleboarding?

A: Early mornings are fantastic! The water is usually calm, and you can enjoy the sunrise over the reservoir. If you’re not a morning person, late afternoons are also great since the crowds thin out. Just keep an eye on the weather - storms can roll in fast in the afternoon.

Q: What do we need to wear for paddleboarding?

A: Light, breathable clothing is best! Swimsuits or athletic wear work great since you might get splashed. Don't forget a hat and sunglasses for sun protection. Water shoes are a good idea too, just in case you step in the water.

Looking to gift a paddleboarding experience at Chatfield!

I'm considering gifting a stand-up paddleboard rental at Chatfield Reservoir for my sister's birthday next month. I know she loves outdoor activities, but I’m curious about the experience. Has anyone done this recently? What was it like? Is it beginner-friendly? Any tips?

Just went paddleboarding at Chatfield and loved it!

I finally rented a paddleboard at Chatfield last weekend and it was such a blast! The staff at 5280 Paddle Sports were super friendly and the boards were in great shape. I went early in the morning and the lake was so peaceful. If you're thinking about going, just do it! You won't regret it!
