Q&A
A: Yes, kids as young as 5 can join the tour, but they need to be accompanied by an adult. For the dog cart ride, it’s best if kids can sit on their own, so keep that in mind if you’re bringing younger ones. They actually allow you to experience the training side of things, which is super fun!
A: Dress in layers! It can get chilly, especially if you’re riding on a cart or during the educational talk. Wear waterproof shoes if possible, 'cause you might encounter some muddy spots at the training camp. And don’t forget gloves!
A: Yes, you can reschedule! Just make sure to give them at least 24 hours' notice. They’re pretty accommodating, but it’s best to check their availability for new dates. Since it’s a popular experience, some days can fill up fast!

Just did the sled dog tour in Skagway and it was AMAZING!
I just got back from the Step Into the Yukon tour, and wow, it was worth every penny! The dog cart ride was thrilling, and Michelle and Ed really know their stuff. Plus, we got to cuddle some puppies afterward, which was just the icing on the cake! If you’re in Skagway, you have to do this—totally a unique experience!
Considering gifting the sled dog tour—thoughts?
I’m thinking about getting this for my sister’s birthday since she loves dogs and outdoor adventures! Just wondering if it’s really as good as it sounds? Any tips on what to expect? I’m nervous about the weather since it can be unpredictable in Alaska!
