Q&A
A: There's no strict age limit, but younger kids should be able to sit still and enjoy the ride. I've seen toddlers on board, and the crew is great with families. Just keep in mind that the boat can sway a bit, so if your little one gets seasick easily, it might be something to consider!
A: Yes, rescheduling is typically allowed! Just make sure to contact Kohala Divers directly as soon as you know you can’t make it. They’re pretty flexible, but it’s good to give them as much notice as possible.
A: Dress in layers! It can get a bit chilly out on the water, especially during sunset. A light jacket or sweater is a good idea, plus comfy shoes since you’ll be moving around the boat. Don’t forget your sunscreen and a hat!

Just did the sunset whale watching tour – what a blast!
I went on the sunset whale watching tour with Kohala Divers last week and it was absolutely magical! The Namaka is super spacious and the 3 viewing decks gave us plenty of room to find a good spot. We saw a bunch of humpback whales breaching and even got to hear some cool info from the crew. They provided snacks and drinks, too! Definitely worth the price. Highly recommend it as a gift for anyone who loves nature!
Thinking about gifting the whale watching experience – any tips?
I want to get the sunset whale watching tour for my parents on their anniversary. They love the ocean but have never been whale watching. What do you guys think? Is it a good experience for older folks? Any tips on making it special?
