Our Group Surf Class is a fun and affordable way to join others across the Santa Barbara and Ventura communities to learn to surf together. Whether you’re a beginner or intermediate surfer, our Group Surf Class will help fine tune your surf skills while meeting a few new surfing friends from the area. The surf class includes surfboards, wetsuits as well as a full 1.5 hours of surf coaching. Grab a few friends and come enjoy California’s best beginner surf breaks.

Q: Are there any age limits for the surf lessons? Thinking about gifting this to my 10-year-old niece!

A: Great question! The surf lessons at Lovewater Surf School are open to all ages, but kids under 12 must have an adult present. They tailor the instruction to be age-appropriate, so your niece should have a blast learning to surf!

Q: What happens if the weather's bad on the day of the lesson? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather isn't cooperating, Lovewater Surf School will contact you ahead of time to discuss rescheduling options. They’re pretty flexible and want to make sure you get the best experience possible!

Q: What's a good outfit to wear? Do I need to bring anything extra?

A: You really just need to wear a swimsuit and maybe some sandals or flip-flops. Lovewater provides the wetsuits, so you won't need to worry about that. Just bring a towel and sunscreen for after the lesson!

Hey, everyone! I’ve been wanting to try surfing for ages and I’m thinking of booking the group surf class at Lovewater in Ventura for my birthday next month. I took the surf lesson in Ventura last weekend and wow, it was amazing! The instructors were so chill and helpful. They really made sure we all got the hang of it. Plus, it was super fun! I’d totally recommend it as a gift or just a fun outing. Anyone else tried it out?
