Learn to surf away from the crowds of Waikiki in a more local surf break. My goal is to have customers catch the most waves possible and capture all the moments on provided GoPro cameras. This surfing lesson is unique as I limit it to just two students. This maximizes wave count and overall quality of the experience. Videos and pictures are included at no additional cost.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this surf lesson? Can kids join?

A: Yes, kids can join as long as they're comfortable in the water. I’ve seen kids around 10-12 years old take lessons without any issues. Just make sure they can swim a little since it's not a beginner's class. Michael is great with younger surfers!

Q: What's the best time of year to book this? Any weather concerns?

A: Late spring to early fall is the best time for surfing in Oahu. The waves are generally smaller and more manageable. Just keep an eye on the forecast, as heavy rains can lead to cancellations, but Michael will work with you to reschedule if that happens.

Q: What should we wear? Are shoes really necessary?

A: You’ll want to wear a swimsuit. The rash guards and reef shoes are provided, but if you have your own, feel free to bring them! The shoes are a good idea since the reefs can be rough. Also, don't forget sunscreen!

Just booked a surf lesson in Oahu, super excited!

I just booked the surf lesson with Michael on Oahu! I love that it’s away from the crowds of Waikiki, sounds like a perfect way to learn without all the chaos. The GoPro videos are an awesome added bonus—can’t wait to show off my first waves! I’m a little nervous since I’ve never surfed before, but I’ve heard great things about Michael's teaching style.

Anyone else tried Michael's surf lesson? Need tips!

Thinking about gifting this surf lesson to my brother's family for Christmas. I know they’ve never surfed, but they’re super adventurous! I’m curious—any tips or insights from those who’ve done it? What can I expect in terms of logistics? Parking, timing, etc. I want to make it special!
