Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the surfing lesson? I want to get this for my 12-year-old nephew.

A: Yes, kids aged 8 and up can typically participate in the group lessons at Haleiwa Beach Park. It's a great spot for beginners, and the instructors are super good with kids. Just make sure to check with North Shore Surf Girls directly for any specific age requirements for the group classes.

Q: What's the cancellation policy if the weather's bad? I want to book this as a surprise for my partner.

A: If the conditions are unsafe for surfing, they will usually reschedule for you. Just reach out to North Shore Surf Girls as soon as possible if you think the weather might be an issue. They’re pretty flexible and will work with you to find a new time!

Q: What should we wear for the surfing lesson? Any specific recommendations?

A: You’ll want to wear a swimsuit underneath, and then they'll provide you with a rash guard and wetsuit. If you have any old surf shoes or flip-flops, those are good to bring too, especially since you’ll be walking on the beach. Just make sure to bring sunscreen and a towel!

Just booked a surfing lesson on the North Shore!

I’m super excited! I got the open group lesson for this weekend at Haleiwa Beach Park. It’s a 2-hour session, and they provide all the gear. I’ve always wanted to try surfing, and the fact that it’s in a protected cove is a huge relief. I hope I can actually catch a wave! Has anyone else done this? Any tips?

Thinking of gifting the surfing lesson to my brother!

My brother's always wanted to learn how to surf, and I think this lesson would be perfect for him. I'm a bit worried about how easy it is for beginners. Is it really as beginner-friendly as they say? Anyone know how many people usually join the group lessons?
