Your tandem (double) kayak will keep you afloat among the gentle waves and light wind that cross the lake in the early morning and afternoon as you float by the granite boulders and massive sugar pines that ring the lake. The time will pass quickly as you work your muscles and push yourself throughout the three hours until you return to the river to disembark for your next adventure - unless you decide to upgrade to a full day rental!

Q: What's the age limit for kids? Can my 8-year-old join us in the tandem kayak?

A: Yes, kids are welcome! The tandem kayaks can accommodate younger paddlers as long as they’re paired with an adult. Just make sure they fit the life jacket properly. If your 8-year-old is comfortable in the water and can listen to instructions, they should have a great time!

Q: Is it easy to reschedule if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

A: Absolutely! If the weather is bad, you can easily reschedule your kayak rental. Just give them a call or check their website. They’re really flexible about it, especially for safety reasons. Just make sure to do it a day or two in advance if possible!

Q: What should we wear for kayaking? Is it cold in the morning?

A: Great question! In the mornings, it can be a bit chilly by the lake, so I’d recommend wearing layers. A swimsuit or quick-dry clothing is best, and don’t forget a light jacket or long sleeve if you’re going early. Also, bring sunscreen and sunglasses—don’t underestimate that lake glare!

We just did the 3-hour tandem kayak rental in Tahoe City, and it was amazing! The granite boulders and trees along the shoreline were so beautiful. We got there early to avoid crowds, and it was perfect. Make sure to bring water and snacks for breaks! Can't wait to go again!
