Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit to drive the Slingshot? My brother's turning 21 soon!

A: Yes, you need to be at least 21 years old to rent and drive a Polaris Slingshot. They do check IDs, so make sure your brother brings his! It’s a thrilling ride, perfect for celebrating a milestone birthday on the Tail of the Dragon.

Q: What should I wear for the Slingshot Adventure? Any recommendations?

A: Definitely wear something comfortable and suitable for riding. Closed-toe shoes are a must, and I'd recommend sunglasses since you’ll be cruising open-air. The weather can change quickly in the Smokies, so check the forecast and maybe bring a light jacket just in case.

Q: How's parking at the rental location? I don't want to deal with a hassle!

A: Parking is pretty simple at Appalachian Adventure Rentals. They have a dedicated lot for visitors, so you shouldn't have any issues finding a spot. Just make sure to arrive a bit early to fill out the rental paperwork and get your helmets!

Just did the Slingshot Adventure on Tail of the Dragon!

OMG, what a rush! I rented a Polaris Slingshot from Appalachian Adventure Rentals and took it on the Tail of the Dragon last week. 318 curves in 11 miles is no joke! The drive through the Smokies was surreal. I can’t believe how well the Slingshot handled everything. If you're considering this as a gift, you won't regret it! Also, make sure to check out the Fontana Dam; it’s a cool stop along the way.

Considering gifting the Slingshot Adventure for my boyfriend’s birthday!

I’m super excited about this! My boyfriend loves fast cars and I think he’d have a blast driving the Slingshot on the Tail of the Dragon. I just want to make sure it’s as fun as it sounds. Any tips for first-timers? And should I book in advance or is it usually available?
