The Art of Stories: A Literary Adventure in the Metropolitan Museum of Art We’re all storytellers, and we live in a world of stories. All our interactive museum tours are inspired by stories, and we’re pleased to present our newest tour, a story…about stories themselves. “The Art of Stories” looks at tales of the Met, backstories of the works of art, narratives set in the museum, and the origin of stories themselves, seen through the perspective of works of art. From myths to fairy tales, fables to epic quests, the tour will transport participants to a cave full of treasure and heroes on daring quests, a sword in a stone and a girl who loses her shoe. We’ll see how stories can take us to other worlds, shift our viewpoint of the world we’re in….and sometimes literally save someone’s life. Recommended for ages 12 and up

Q&A

Q: What age group is this tour suitable for? Can younger kids join?

A: This tour is recommended for ages 12 and up. While younger kids can join, it might be a bit complex for them. If you're thinking of taking a younger child, just keep in mind the stories might be more appealing to teens and adults. It's a great way to spark their interest in art and storytelling, though!

Q: Is this tour wheelchair accessible? I’m thinking of bringing my mom.

A: Yes, the Metropolitan Museum is wheelchair accessible, and the tour is designed to accommodate all guests. There are ramps and elevators throughout the museum. Just double-check with the provider when booking to ensure any specific needs are met.

Q: How long is the tour usually? And can we reschedule if something comes up?

A: The tour typically lasts about 2 hours, but it can vary depending on the group size and engagement. As for rescheduling, yes, you can usually do that with prior notice. Just reach out to Fable & Lark directly to confirm their policy. They’re pretty flexible!

Thinking of gifting 'The Art of Stories' tour - feedback?

Hey everyone! I'm considering gifting 'The Art of Stories' tour at the Met to my sister, who loves literature and art. She's 14 and a bit of a bookworm. I think she'd love the mix of storytelling and art! Has anyone done this tour? Any tips on what to expect or what to bring?

Just got back from the Met tour - wow!

I just did 'The Art of Stories' tour and it was amazing! The guide was super knowledgeable and the way they tied in stories with the art was just brilliant. We also had some interactive elements that kept everyone engaged. Highly recommend this if you’re into art or storytelling! Perfect for older kids and adults!
