Q&A

Q: Is there a specific age range that this walking tour is best for? My parents are in their 60s.

A: This tour is quite flexible and can be enjoyed by most age groups. For your parents, it's perfect as it's a private tour, so the pace can be adjusted to their comfort. Just keep in mind some of the memorials can have quite a bit of walking involved, particularly around the National Mall. If they're comfortable with walking a few miles and taking breaks, they should have a great time!

Q: What should I wear for this walking tour? Is it a lot of walking?

A: Comfortable shoes are a must! You'll be walking a lot, especially if you visit multiple memorials and the museum. Dress in layers, especially if you're going in spring or fall since the weather can change. Sunscreen and hats are great for sunny days too. Just be prepared for a good amount of walking, but it's totally worth it!

Q: Could the tour be affected by weather? What if it rains?

A: The tour can continue in light rain, but if there's heavy rain or severe weather, they usually reschedule or offer a partial indoor experience. It’s best to check the forecast and keep in touch with the tour provider if you're unsure. Just bring an umbrella or poncho just in case!

Thinking about gifting the DC walking tour—any tips?

I’m considering this full-day walking tour in DC for my sister's birthday. She loves history and culture! I want to make sure it's a good fit since she has a bit of trouble walking for long periods. Is it flexible enough to accommodate her? Also, any favorite lunch spots nearby after the tour?

Just did the DC walking tour—thoughts!

OMG, I just finished the private walking tour in DC and it was amazing! Our guide was so knowledgeable. We saw the Lincoln Memorial at sunset, which was breathtaking. The Smithsonian Museum was a cool bonus. Just a heads up, wear comfy shoes because we walked A LOT! Definitely recommend it as a gift for anyone who loves history.
