From there, on to the early French & Spanish colonies, all the way to the jazz age, and the birthplace of modern music! Q: Is there a minimum age for the French Quarter History Tour? I'm thinking about taking my 13-year-old nephew.

A: There's no strict age limit for the tour, but I’d recommend it for ages 12 and up. The stories are engaging, but some of the historical content might go over younger kids' heads. Plus, the mid-tour coffee and alcohol could be interesting for the adults! Your nephew should enjoy the pirate and voodoo queen tales, though!

Q: What should we wear? Is there a lot of walking involved?

A: Definitely wear comfortable shoes! The tour involves a good amount of walking, but it’s at a relaxed pace. Dress for the weather – it can get hot in New Orleans, but layers are good for evenings. Sandals are fine, just make sure they’re comfy!

Q: If the weather's bad, do they cancel the tour? I don't want to gift this and have it get rained out.

A: They usually run rain or shine unless it’s severe weather. They might adjust the route to stay under cover though! If the tour does get canceled, they offer rescheduling or refunds, so no worries there. Just check the forecast ahead of time!
