2 INDOOR restaurant tastings are included on this tour! At Foods of New York Tours we are the pioneers of NYC food tours since 1999! Join us on a delicious “multi–ethnic” food tasting and cultural/historical journey through the Heart & Soul of Greenwich Village (The Central Village – the area surrounding Washington Square Park and New York University). Find out why this area of the Village is so popular for its diverse food scene, rich history, culture, counter culture, distinct architecture, and vibrant Greenwich Village nightlife. We will also visit Washington Square Park and learn about its radical protesters, infamous hanging tree, the Washington Square Arch, and walk the same streets that Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Amy Schumer did while learning about the music and comedy scene, and why this section of NYC can only be described as The Village!

Q&A

Q: Is this tour good for someone who's not super adventurous with food?

A: Absolutely! The Heart & Soul of Greenwich Village tour includes a variety of tastings, so there's usually something for everyone. Plus, the guide is great at explaining each dish, so if you’re hesitant, they can help you find something that suits your taste. Just be honest with your guide about your preferences!

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of the tour?

A: Tours will go on rain or shine! The experience includes two indoor tastings, so you won't be out in the rain the whole time. Just be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. If there’s a serious issue, they might reschedule you, but it’s rare.

Q: How long does the tour typically last, and what's the parking situation like?

A: The tour usually lasts around 3 hours, but it can vary depending on the group. As for parking, it can be tricky in Greenwich Village, so I’d recommend taking public transportation if you can. There are subway stations nearby, which is probably the easiest option. Just keep that in mind when planning your trip!

Just got back from the Greenwich Village food tour!

I did the Heart & Soul of Greenwich Village tour last weekend, and wow, what a blast! We had two amazing indoor tastings that filled me up for hours, and our guide was super knowledgeable about the history of the area. It was so cool to walk past Washington Square Park and hear stories about Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves food and a little culture!

Considering this tour as a gift for my foodie friend!

I’m thinking about getting the Heart & Soul of Greenwich Village tour for my friend’s birthday. She loves exploring new food spots, and I feel like this would be perfect. Has anyone done it? What was the vibe like? Does it cater to foodies or is it more casual?
