Q&A
A: Absolutely! This experience is great for families, as long as the kids are at least 8 years old. There’s a good amount of walking, especially at the falls, but the guide keeps it engaging for everyone. Just make sure they wear comfortable shoes and can handle some scenic driving!
A: Dress in layers! The mountain weather can change quickly, so you’ll want to be prepared. I’d recommend wearing a moisture-wicking base layer, sturdy hiking shoes, and bringing a light jacket. Don’t forget sunglasses for the drive through the gorge too!
A: Yeah, weather can definitely play a role, especially in winter. If it’s too bad, they’ll usually reschedule the tour for you. But bring a poncho or waterproof layer just in case! It can be magical to see the falls in the rain anyway.

Thinking about gifting the Hood-Columbia Loop experience for my parents!
I just found this tour and think it would be perfect for my parents. They love exploring nature and have always wanted to see Multnomah Falls. Plus, the idea of having a guide who knows the area sounds great for them. Do you think the lunch stop in downtown Hood River is good? Any suggestions?
Just did the Hood-Columbia Loop! Here’s my review!
I just got back from the Hood-Columbia Loop tour and wow, it was so worth it! The guide was super knowledgeable and we stopped at so many beautiful spots. Timberline Lodge was stunning, and seeing Multnomah Falls in person was breathtaking. The lunch break in Hood River was perfect too! Highly recommend it for anyone looking to explore Oregon.
