Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit for the tide pool tour, but younger kids (like under 5) might need extra help from parents. It’s a pretty hands-on experience, and the guide tailors the adventure based on the group’s ages. Just make sure to bring a good pair of water shoes for them!
A: If the weather's iffy, the tour provider usually checks conditions and can reschedule if needed. They’re pretty flexible about that! Just keep an eye on the forecast and maybe have a backup plan in mind for a rainy day.
A: Definitely wear something comfy! Waterproof shoes are a must since you'll be walking on wet rocks. Also, bring a light jacket if it gets breezy near the shore. I wore shorts and a tee, but you might want to think about the tide conditions too!

Thinking about gifting the Private Point Loma Tide Pool Tour for my sister's birthday!
I just found out about the Private Point Loma Tide Pool Tour and it sounds amazing! It starts at Cabrillo National Monument, which I've been wanting to check out anyway. My sister loves marine life, so I think this would be perfect. I’m just a bit worried about what to wear and if it's suitable for all ages since she has a 4-year-old. Anyone have experiences to share?
Just did the Private Point Loma Tide Pool Tour and wow!
I just got back from the tide pool tour and had an experience of a lifetime! The guide was so knowledgeable, and we got to see so many cool creatures. My favorite was the sea cucumber! It's a bit of a hike to get to the pools, but totally worth it. I highly recommend bringing kids along; they had a blast. Snacks provided were a nice touch too!
