Q&A
A: Yes, kids can definitely join! The tour is family-friendly, but I'd recommend it for kids ages 10 and up since they should be able to handle the bike. Just keep in mind that everyone will need to be comfortable riding for a few hours. If your kid is younger, you might want to check with Alaska Trail Guides if they can accommodate them on a tandem bike or something similar.
A: I’d recommend wearing comfortable athletic wear and closed-toe shoes. The tour includes a rain jacket, but it’s good to have layers since the weather can change quickly in Alaska. Also, don't forget sunglasses and sunscreen—even on cloudy days, the UV can be strong out there near the coast!
A: Yes, Alaska Trail Guides is pretty flexible with rescheduling, especially if the weather isn’t cooperating. Just make sure to call them as soon as you know there’s an issue. They want everyone to have a good experience, so they’ll work with you to find another date that works!

Just did the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail Bike Tour!
I went on the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail bike tour last weekend, and wow, it was amazing! Our guide was super knowledgeable about Anchorage’s history, and we ended up seeing a couple of moose along the way! The snacks were nice too. We rode along the coast and the views of Cook Inlet were stunning. Highly recommend as a gift for anyone visiting Anchorage or even locals looking to explore more!
Thinking of gifting the bike tour—anyone done it?
I’m considering giving the Tony Knowles bike tour as a gift for my sister's birthday. She loves nature and biking, but I’m not sure if it’s too easy or too hard for her. Would love to hear if anyone who’s done it thinks it’s worth it!
