Thinking of gifting the Top Of The Rock and Walking Tour - any advice?

I’m considering getting this experience for my dad's birthday since he loves NYC. Any tips from those who’ve done the walking tour? What’s the pace like? I'm worried he might struggle with the 3 hours. Plus, how was the view from Top of the Rock?
